ALERT (October 08)!  NRHA Rescinds Rule Change 24-01-09
An NRHA Board of Directors meeting was held Sunday, October 12, 2008. The board considered and discussed the legal ramifications of the mandatory professionals’ membership. On the advice of legal counsel the board voted to rescind rule change 24-01-09 and all other references to rule change 24-01-09.

 

Proposed Change: 30-03-09

Category 2

Open Aged Event- Any rider holding a valid NRHA Professionals, Non Pro or Youth membership card may show in this division.

Intermediate Open Aged Event- Open to any rider holding a valid NRHA Professionals, Non Pro or Youth membership card who is not in the Top 35 money earners in open classes based on open earnings in the Category 2 and 6 events for the previous three calendar years.  In addition, the Top 25 Non Pro riders based on total earnings in Category 2 and 6 events over the previous three calendar years, are not eligible.  For members giving up Non Pro cards please refer to the Non Pro conditions section 9.

Limited Open aged event- Open to any rider holding a valid NRHA Professionals, Non Pro or Youth membership card who has earned less than $15,000.00 in lifetime NRHA Category 2 and 6 earnings at the start of the NRHA year.  For members giving up Non Pro cards please refer to the Non Pro conditions section 9.

Prime Time Open aged Event- Open to any rider holding a valid NRHA Professionals or Non Pro card who is 50 or older as of January 1 of the NRHA year.  This class may run concurrent with the Category 2 Open, Intermediate Open, or Limited Open class.

 

Intent of Proposal (include additional pages as necessary): to require Professionals to hold an NRHA Professionals card and pay the $50.00 annual fee before competing in an NRHA approved event.
